Thompson's Craft Supplies was started by Louise Thompson, with an aim to bring a wider choice of brands, particularly American brands, at affordable prices. This was something which had frustrated her as a crafter; the availability and prices of things in the UK market.

2018 sees the start of a new exciting challenge for the company. We have seen the rise in popularity of mixed media so are focusing more on this to include a monthly mixed media kit. It's something I myself am very passionate about so cannot wait to start.

Our design team also is doing an collaboration with the design team at Scrap the Boys. We exchanged and combined challenges and had a fabulous time! You will see some of the SID design team used the moodboard from Scrap the Boys as inspiration for their pages.

Here is the Scrap the Boys February challenge:

and now please welcome Lisa as our February guest designer! Lisa decided to play along with our Scrap The Boys collaboration and included the heart cut file on her layout.
Hello! My name is Lisa Moen. My husband Greg and I live in central Wisconsin. We have 2 children- Sierra is a sophomore in college and Austin is a senior in high school. I work as the Food Service Director at Austin's school and enjoy having most of the summer off. I also am president of the school's Athletic Booster Club but will be giving that up at the end of the school year. Besides scrapping, I enjoy camping, 4 wheelin' and gardening.
I would like to thank Ashley and the Stick It Down Design Team for having me this month!

Here are a few links to my social media:

Here's Lisa's page and a few words about her inspiration:

I was inspired by all the elements of the sketch and followed it closely. I used watercolors to get the ombre effect on my hearts to match their mood board along with the word "Dream."

You have until the end of the month to play along with any - or all! - of our sketch challenges. One winner from each sketch will be chosen and invited back as a guest designer. We also have prize sponsors this month for two randomly selected winners using random.org!

Crop challenges...

Our first ever Facebook crop event is now over, but I had some participants ask to have the challenges shared together on our blog.

Julene's "blind" scrap challenge
You will need:
1 portrait and 1 landscape 6x4 photo.
2 Patterned papers (12x12)
2 cardstock (one is backing and won't be seen)
ribbon
small embellishments
a large monogram letter

Instructions:
Cut along the diagonals on both patterned papers making 2 large triangles.
Adhere to backing cardstock with the right angles on top left and bottom right corners.
Mat each photo with plain cardstock.
Cut a circle the size of a saucer from remaining cardstock.
Ink around this circle if desired then place in top left hand corner so that it goes over the edge. Trim off excess pieces.
Cut out monogram letter of your choice to fit in the middle of this circle. (I used A for attitude so it doesn't have to be a person's name.)
Adhere monogram in centre of circle.
Take 3 pieces of ribbon about 5cm long and fold in half.
Staple or use a brad to adhere these to the corner of your photos.
Adhere photos to page - portrait in the top right corner and landscape in the lower left hand corner, under the monogram circle.
Add journaling or title to the lower right hand corner.
Have fun.... The BLIND part is not knowing how it is supposed to look.

Participants didn't see the "result" until the crop was over, but here is your goal:

Cathy's double page tic tac toe challenge
Use one of our double page skteches (found on the blog or our Pinterest) along with this tic tac toe board:

Laura's Grab 5 challenge. Your five items are: stencil, stamping, alpha stickers, sequins, and this sketch:

purple challenge
Create a project that uses the Pantone Colour of the Year – Ultra Violet and one of Stick It Down’s sketches. Any sketch found on our blog or Pinterest and any shade of purple is fine 💜

Lori's card sketch challenge with optional mixed media:

Tina's double page recipe challenge with this sketch:

RECIPE - Use the double sketch. Use cardstock for your background, add some mixed media to the background. Add at least 5 photos, use 3 pattern papers, scatter some stickers, die cuts and some wood veneer.

Ashley's sketch + song inspired layout challenge
Choose ANY Stick It Down sketch - new, old, card, layout, doesn't matter + be inspired by a song. Any song. You can find the SID sketches on the blog (just filter by card/single page/double page) or on Pinterest.

Antonia's oldie, but goodie challenge
Use any single page sketch previously featured on the Stick It Down blog or found on our Pinterest board. Antonia has a beautiful blog post about why she chose the sketches she did and ways to make the sketches work with your ideas: https://ants21design.wixsite.com/chasingdaylight
and she also shared a process video: https://youtu.be/sCLfL_2-yLY

and now please welcome Kaylie!

I'm so glad to have Kaylie guest designing with us this month!

I'm Kaylie from the UK, I live with my husband, almost four year old and two crazy cats (they really don't get on!) I've been scrapping for just over 2 years and do a big of single, double, pocket and 8x11 pages depending on what fits my mood. I love playing computer games, crafting of all sorts and having family adventures.
Here is her page:

I kept quite close to the sketch including placement of embellishment clusters, except for the photo placement. My first thought when I saw it was, 'Great, I can use scraps!' I have been using mostly Say Cheese III for my Disney photo holidays and was great to use up those little bits that were left over as I'm nearing the end of this project.
